Installation
This document was created to assist techs in the field with the installation of a standard NCS Systems project. We will show how equipment and devices should be installed and establish quality that is expected on every project. There is also documentation on programming devices, identifying default passwords, proper labeling for devices, and cabling
Inventory
Inventory of all the equipment shall be taken prior to beginning the project. If there is a part, device, and hardware missing, the PM will be notified of the missing item. PM will coordinate to get the equipment out to the project as soon as possible. All equipment is accounted for prior to delivery of location specified by Tech, or Contractor. A manifest of this checklist copy is sent with all orders and signed by an NCS logistics representative.
Walk Site
A site map will be created for proposal and will give specific information on the location of all cameras, head-ends, wireless bridge, roof switches, etc. If available, client or representative will walk the site with Tech to review and approve equipment and possibly make any changes.
If tech comes across any issues with equipment locations, they must contact their PM before moving forward.
Locations cannot be moved without prior approval from NCS PM and priced if required.
Any change orders must be approved and signed prior to the change.
Any parts needed that are not included may require new proposal. The hardware sent must be approved by
owner and NCS. A photocopy of the receipt must be submitted for reimbursement.
If a lift is required NCS will provide and will have delivered to site prior to installation.
Conduit must be painted to blend into exterior of building.
3. Installation
Installation will be conducted according to the layout provided. All wire must be labeled on both ends in the following sequence: CAM 1, CAM 2, CAM 3, etc. Wire will be run as clean as possible, wire must not be visible when possible. If wire needs to be ran across a roof, please follow OSHA guidelines for safety. Try to avoid any tripping hazards and zip tie wire to the nearest spot, and zip ties need to be trimmed.
IP Address must be noted on each camera, hub, switch and noted in the excel spreadsheet that will be provided with the project.
Cameras will be installed on top of a Junction box, and wire shall reside inside this Junction box. If a horn is required the connections for this horn will be inside the junction box, and that horn will need to be labeled HORN 1, HORN 2, etc.
Rack will need to go on the wall and properly supported, a stud must be found on the wall where the rack will be installed.
All equipment in the rack will be installed per a rack diagram, wire shall be dressed with Velcro. If a monitor is installed it will be level and per the clients preference on location.
